A case report/review discusses familial risks for TN — Fleetwood (2001) PMID: 11565877.

Hemminki (2007), PMID: 17183020. Cohort study of patients hospitalized for nerve, nerve root and plexus disorders in Sweden For TN, N=664 — Standarised risk ratio (95%CI) for developing TN if a sibling was diagnosed with TN: 2.51 (0.46 to 9.20) in men and 2.28 (0.64 to 6.68) in women. There was also a risk for spouses developing TN, indicating a possible environmental etiology. For more statistical analysis, see Tables 2, 3, & 4.
